William Smith Kimball (William Smith Kimball)

William Smith Kimball

Businessman. He was founder of the Kimball Tobacco Factory in Rochester, New York, which he built around a handful of small tobacco-related devices invented by one of his employees. Kimball became one of the world’s largest tobacco product companies; the cigarette division alone supplied the world with 750 million cigarettes each year. His family home, which he commissioned and built, was one of the only two houses in America known to have been designed by Tiffany. (bio by: Mount Hope NY)
