Actress. A native of Hollywood, California, she is best remembered for her roles as ‘Amy Cassidy’ in “Bosom Buddies” from 1980 to 1982 (with Tom Hanks), ‘Pvt. Stacy Kouchalakas’ in “Private Benjamin” from 1982 to 1983, ‘Charlene Gilbert’ on “Babes” from 1991 to 1992, ‘Mavis Davis’ on “Hearts Afire” from 1992 to 1993, and ‘Linda McFly’ in the “Back To The Future” films starring Michael J. Fox. Her other credits include the films, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” (1978), “Corvette Summer” (1978), “1941” (1979), “Used Cars” (1980), “Bachelor Party” (1984), “Stewardess School” (1986), “Love Affair” (1994), “Sorority Boys” (2002), and several television appearances including, “Designing Women,” Married… With Children,” “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose,” “Murphy Brown,” and “8 Simple Rules… For Dating My Teenage Daughter.” She married Richard Velasquez in 1983 and they had two children, Preston in 1986, and Pearl in 1990, but they divorced in 1994. In 1997 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but by 2002, the cancer had spread. She was also a founder of the we SPARK cancer support group. She passed away from the cancer in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 47. (bio by: K)
