Teófilo Calle

Stage, Screen and Television Actor and Playwright. He was born in Casas Benítez (Cuenca). His career spent 50 years, from his stage debut in 1954. He appeared on stage in “Liliom,” “Hoy es Fiesta,” “Los Pobrecitos” among more than 250 plays. He also appeared in a few films such as “Dragon Rapide” (1986) and “Los Años Bárbaros” (1998), sometimes credited as Calle Teófilo. In his work as playwright, he wrote “Réquiem por un Imbécil,” “Las Cometas” and “Sólo para Mujeres.” He died in Córdoba (Andalucia) and was cremated in Jérez de la Frontera (Cádiz), where he lived.
