Sophie Heathcote

Actress. A native of Melbourne, Australia, she is best remembered for her television roles. She played ‘Stephanie “Stevie” Brennan’ in “A Country Practice” from 1990 to 1991, ‘Peggy’ in “Bordertown” in 1995, ‘Lottie Gunther’ in “Sun Of The Stubble” from 1996 to 2001, ‘Sam Kezerko’ on “Raw FM” in 1997, ‘Constable Fiona Cassidy’ in “Water Rats” from 1996 to 1997, and as ‘Biddy Marchant’ in “Grass Roots” in 2000. Among her other work was the films, “Reckless Kelly” (1993), “Three Chords And A Wardrobe” (1998), “Backlands” (2001), and appearances on the television programs, “Pigs Breakfast,” “The Big Scmooze,” “State Coroner,” “Bony,” “Soldier Soldier,” and “G.P.” Also a talented stage actress she appeared as ‘Jennifer’ in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of “The Misanthrope.” She also founded a skin care product named Ki, and helped establish the annual Celebration of Life neonatal unit fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital, among other charity work. She passed away in Connecticut from of an aneurism at the age of 33.  (bio by: K)
