Organized Crime Figure. He was a Capo in the Genovese Family from the days of Joe the Boss Masseria in the 1920’s until his retirement in the early 1970’s. He was based in the North Ward of Newark, New Jersey and he had absolute power over all organized crime in that city. His influence in City Hall brought about the arrest and conviction on racketeering charges of Newark Mayor Hugh Addonizio in 1969. Addonizio served 62 months in a federal prison. Ruggiero Boiardo died of natural causes at the age of 93.
