Robert R. “Satch” Armstrong

Professional Hockey Player. A native of Toronto, Ontario, ‘Bob’ Armstrong stood 6’01, and weighed 180lbs. He played the position of Defense for teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), American Hockey League (AHL), and the Eastern Pacific Hockey League (EPHL), including the Boston Bruinns from 1950 to 1962, Hershey Bears from 1951 to 1952, Springfield Indians from 1957 to 1958, and the Rochester Americans from 1962 to 1963. Armstrong was also a player and Head Coach for the Hull-Ottawa Canadiens from 1962 to 1963, and later was an assistant coach for Hockey Hall of Fame Coach, Roger Neilson. He later settled in Peterborough, Ontario, and coached hockey for Lakefield College from 1963 to 1989.  (bio by: K)
