Reiko Sato

Actress. Born in Los Angeles, California, she is best known for the role of seamstress ‘Helen Chao’ in the movie “Flower Drum Song” (1961). She made her film debut in “Mother Didn’t Tell You” (1950), followed by “Woman On The Run” (1950). Among her credits are “House of Bamboo” (1955), “Kismet” (1955), “Invaders from the Planets” (1957), “The Devil Incarnate” (1959), “Hell to Eternity” (1960) and “The Ugly American” (1963). For over 20 years, she was a very close friend to actor Marlin Brando, but they never got married. After her death, she was cremated with half her ashes being sent to Brando’s private island and the other half to a Buddhist Temple. (bio by: John “J-Cat” Griffith)
