Rafael Bardem

Actor. He was born in Barcelona (Catalunya) and died in Madrid. He began his career on stage at the age of 20 in the company of Rosario Pino and became one of the legendary spanish stage actors of the Twentieth Century. On stage, he worked in “Un Espíritu Burlon” (1946), “El Caso de la Mujer Asesinadita” (1946), “Antígona” (1947), “Hamlet” (1949), “El Alcalde de Zalamea” (1950), “Don Juan Tenorio” (1950) and “El Patio” (1953). In cinema, he appeared in more than 100 films such as “El Clavo” (1944), “Nada” (1947), “Esa Pareja Feliz” (1951), “Mi Tio Jacinto” (1956), “¿Dónde Vas Alfonso XII?” (1958) and “Nunca Pasa Nada” (1963). He was married to actress Matilde Muñoz Sampedro and was the father of motion picture director Juan Antonio Bardem and actress Pilar Bardem. Also he was the grandfather of actor Javier Bardem.
