Rafael Alonso

He was born in Madrid in 1920. After the Spanish Civil War, he began studying Declamation and Dramatic Art along with Fernando Fernán Gómez and Manuel Alexandre. Once concluded, he began working in the theatre company of Ricardo Calvo, in which he made his premiere in 1940 with the piece “La vida es sueño”. He worked in other groups under the direction of Irene López Heredia or Conchita Montes. In 1963, he had participated in more than 300 sets. Starting in 1951, Alonso began collaborating in cinema, appearing in films such as “Bienvenido Mister Marshall”, “La Colmena” or “El abuelo”. On television, he participated in the drama “Estudio 1” and the series “Hostal Royal Manzanares” or “Villarriba y Villabajo”. He died in 1998.
