Norman Alden

Actor. Following his service with the US Military whom he was station with in Europe during World War II, Alden returned home and from the aid of the GI Bill, he enrolled at Texas Christian University. It was while there, he caught the acting bug and began to perform in on-campus stage productions. Alden initiated his career in entertainment as a disc jockey at his hometown radio station in Fort Worth and it would be a win from the Arthur Godfrey Talent Show which launched his Hollywood tenure. What followed would be a large quantity of television and film credits believed to roughly 2,000. Alden may be best remembered for featured roles in the TV series “Not For Hire” (1959 to 1960, as Grundy), “Rango” (1967, as Captain Horton) and the voice of “Aquaman” in the animated series “Super Friends” (1973). He would go onto have parts of substance in the pictures “Portrait of a Mobster” (1961), “The Sword in the Stone” (1963, voice only), “The Devil’s Brigade” (1968), “Back to the Future” (1985), “The Transformers: The Movie” (1986) and “Ed Wood” (1994).
