Martin E. Brooks

Actor. He will be remembered for playing ‘Dr. Rudy Wells’ in the TV series “The Six Million Dollar Man” (1975 to 1978) and “The Bionic Woman” (1976 to 1978). Raised in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, he served as a paratrooper with the United States Army Airborne Division in the South Pacific Theater during World War II and following his return home, he enrolled at Penn State University. After choosing to pursue an acting career, he studied at the Dramatic Workshop of the New School for Social Research in New York City. He made his professional debut on Broadway in John Steinbeck’s “Burning Light” (1950) and received a Theatre World Award. He went on to appear in a half of dozen other plays including the long running “I Am a Camera” (1951 to 1952). Brooks initiated his lengthy association with television during the 1950s and accrued credits with “Combat!”, “The Fugitive”, “The Wild, Wild West”, “McMillan & Wife” and “Dallas”, as well as many other programs.
