Silent Film Actress. Best known for her role as ‘Lady Tarbotham’ in the Laurel and Hardy movie “Duck Soup.” In 1919, Madeline Hurlock made her Broadway debut in the ensemble cast of “The Rose of China”. Her big break came in 1923 when Keystone Studios producer/director Mack Sennett spotted her in one of the plays in which she was performing. He was impressed with her beauty and talent and signed her as the leading lady for a series of two-reel comedies, cast opposite the likes of Ben Turpin, Harry Langdon and Billy Bevan. Her poise and comedy timing quickly made her a fan favorite. In a career that spanned 6 years, she appeared in such movie shorts as “Where’s My Wandering Boy This Evening”, “A Sea Dog’s Tale”, “Circus Today”, “Duck Soup” and many others. Her last appearance was in “Pink Pajamas” in 1929. With the arrival of the “talking pictures” era, she retired from the business, married and lived a quiet life until her death at age 89.  (bio by: Whispers From The Grave)  Family links:  Spouses:  Marc Connelly (1890 – 1980)*  Robert Emmet Sherwood (1896 – 1955)* *Calculated relationship
