Lois Ramsey

Actress. Born Lois June Dickson, she was a prominent actress who was known for her performances as eccentric old ladies on various television series. Her first acting role was in the television series “Consider Your Verdict” which aired from 1962 to 1963. She would go on to have a long career in television with such credits as “Homicide”, “The Box”, “The Truckies”, “Prisoner: Cell Block H”, A Country Practice”, and “All Saints”. In 2000 she won an AFI Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role in a Television Drama Series award for her performance in the series “Grass Roots”. She also performed on the stage and in movies with such film credits as “Undercover” (1984), “River Street” (1996), and “Fresh Air” (1999). She was the mother of actress Penny Ramsey and writer/director Stephen Ramsey. (bio by: Mr. Badger Hawkeye)
