Hjördis Pettersson

Swedish Actress. She had a long theatre career, and was employed at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm and the City Theatre of Gothenburg. She worked with directors as Ingmar Bergman and was noted for roles in plays by Strindberg and Lorca and revues by Karl Gerhard among others. She participated in more than 140 films (Swedish record), for instance “Styrman Karlssons Flammor” (1937) and Strindberg´s “Hemsöborna” (1955) as Madame Flod. She also was the voice of the Queen and Witch in Swedish version of Disney´s “Snowwhite” (1938). (bio by: Peter Robsahm)
