George Washington Scott

Educator. He was the founder and main benefactor of the school that eventually became Agnes Scott College (first known as the Decatur Female Seminary in 1887). He was a Decatur industrialist who in 1890 donated land, equipment, the first building, and money for a permanent endowment to the school.
