Forouzan (Forouzan Forouzan)

Forouzan

Actress.   Born Parvin Kheirbakhsh, she was an actress in cinema from the 1960s to 1979 when she was banned from acting in movies after the Iranian Revolution.   She started her career by dubbing films and starred in her first film “Sahel-e Entezar” in 1964.   She would go on to star in many popular films and was a big box office attraction in Iran.   Her sexy dancing in the films that she starred in made her famous.   Her film credits would include  “The Cycle” (1978), “Ganj-e Qarun” (1965) “Raghaseye shahr” (1970) and “Charkh-E-Bazigar” (1968).   After the Iranian Revolution toppled the Pahlevi regime in 1979, she was banned from acting in films and never gave interviews after that.   She was still well loved among the Iranian people, even those that were born after the revolution.
