Actress. A native of Prescott, Arizona, she was born Dorothy Fay on April 4, 1915. She was married to cowboy actor and singer, Tex Ritter from June 14, 1941, until his death on January 2, 1974, with whom she had 2 children. Between 1938 and 1941 she appeared in many films including ‘B’ movies with her husband, including, “Frontier Scout” (1938), “The Stranger From Arizona” (1938), “Law Of The Texan” (1938), “Prairie Justice” (1938), “Song Of The Buckaroo” (1938), “The Long Shot” (1939), “Trigger Pals” (1939), “Sundown On The Prairie” (1939), “Missing Daughter” (1939), “Sporting Blood” (1940), “Rainbow Over The Range” (1940), “Glamour For Sale” (1940), “The Green Archer” (1940), “The Philadelphia Story” (1940), “White Eagle” (1941), “North From The Lone Star” (1941), “The Iron Claw” (1941), and “Lady Be Good” (1941). Ritter was the mother of actor and comedian John Ritter who is best remembered for his role as ‘Jack Tripper’ on the television series, “Three’s Company.” He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54 on September 11, 2003. Dorothy herself passed away at the age of 88 on November 5, 2003.
