Actress. She was a character actress in theaters, television and on stage. She graduated with a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University in 1970. Her acting career began in a puppet theater in Los Angeles. She was popular in regional theaters and she also appeared on television and in such movies as “Air Force One” and “Outrageous Fortune.”   She had a starring role as head nurse Maggie Poole in “13 East,” an NBC comedy from 1989 to 1990.  She also had roles on “Married . . . With Children,” “Life Goes On” and “Popular.”     The many TV shows she made guest appearances on are: “Married with Children,” “Melrose Place,”  “Murphy Brown,” “Baywatch,” “Quantom Leap,” “Family Ties,” “Hunter,”  “Hill Street Blues,” “T.J. Hooker” and many more.    She also did a substantial amount of stage acting: three seasons with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland and she acted in such plays as “Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You” (as the title character), “The House of Blue Leaves,” and “The Skin of Our Teeth.”   The last five years of her life she suffered from cancer, diabetes, and blindness, nonetheless she continued to act on the TV series “Popular”, where she portrayed the blind Principal Cecelia Hall,  she also made a guest appearance on an episode of “Diagnosis Murder,” and played the crippled Mrs. Nichols in a stage production of “The Ladies of the Corridor.”  She died from cancer at her home in Valley Village, California.  As per her last will and testament, she was cremated with her ashes scattered at sea in the Pacific Ocean.
