Concha Piquer

Singer, Actress. She debuted in New York at the age of 14 and worked with Eddie Cantor, Al Jolson and Fred and Adele Astaire. She returned to Spain and become one of the most important singers of the Copla (Spanish songs). Among her songs “Ojos verdes”, “Tu ropita con la mía”, “Novio”, “La niña de la estación”, “La Parrala”, “La otra”, “Almoneda” and “Picadita de viruela”. She also appeared in a few films such as “El negro que tenía el alma blanca” (1927), “Yo canto para ti” (1934) and “La Dolores” (1940). (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
