Caitlin Clarke

Actress. Clarke is best remembered for her role as ‘Valerian’ in the 1981 film, “Dragonslayer.” A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Clarke was a student at Mount Holyoke College from 1970 to 1974, and the Yale School of Drama from 1974 to 1978. She later became an actress and appeared in several films including, “Crocodile Dundee” (1986), “Mayflower Madam” (1987), “Penn & Teller Get Killed” (1989), “The Big Picture” (1989), “Love, Lies And Murder” (1991), “Blown Away” (1994), “Kiss And Tell” (1996), “The Stepford Husbands” (1996), “Cost Of Living” (1997), “A Cure For Serpents” (1997), “Joe The King” (1999), and “Never Again” (2001). On television she played ‘Emma’ on “Once A Hero” in 1987, and appaeared on, “Law & Order”, “The Equalizer”, “Moonlighting”, Sex And The City”, “The Cosby Mysteries”, and “Matlock.” Clarke who taught drama at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was also a noted Broadway actress appearing in such plays as, “Strange Interlude”, “Our Country’s Good”, “Arms And The Man”, and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?.” In 2000 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 52, and she passed away from the disease on September 9, 2004, after battling it for over 4 years.
