Indian Tamil Actress. Manorama, born Gopishantha, was an actress whose career spanned over 1,500 films, a thousand stage productions, and several television series. She started acting on the stage at an early age and continued until 1958 when she gained her first film role in “Maalayitta Mangai”.  Throughout her career, Manorama’s films ranged from comedies to dramas.   By the time of her passing, the number of her films had reached 1,500 which gave her the record for being the “most prolific actress” and having the most leading roles.   Besides film, Manorama still performed in stage productions throughout her career and that number reached a thousand.    She also made appearances on various television series as well.   Manorama was honored with various awards for her achievements in film.
