Biography
Vladimir Lenin was born on April 22, 1870, in Ulyanovsk, a city along the Volga River in western Russia. He would become a defining figure of the twentieth century, remembered as a founding leader of the Soviet Union. His life spanned a period of profound political and social transformation, during which he played a central role in reshaping the course of Russian history and international politics.
Lenin spent much of his adult life engaged in revolutionary activities and political leadership. His intellectual contributions and organizational work established him as one of the most influential political figures of his era. The movement he helped lead fundamentally altered the structure of governance and society across a vast expanse of territory and affected millions of people.
On January 21, 1924, Lenin died in Bolshiye Gorki at the age of fifty-three, following a cerebral hemorrhage. His death marked the end of an era and left questions about the future direction of the nation he had worked to build. In recognition of his historical significance, Lenin was interred at the Lenin’s Mausoleum in the Tverskoy District of Russia, where his remains became a site of remembrance and pilgrimage for generations to come.
