Biography

Muammar Gaddafi was born on June 19, 1942, in Qasr Abu Hadi, Libya. He rose to prominence as a military officer and became known as the Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution of Libya, serving in that role for decades. His leadership fundamentally shaped the political landscape of Libya throughout the latter half of the twentieth century.

Gaddafi’s life came to an end on October 20, 2011, in Sirte, Libya, when he died from a gunshot wound. His death marked the conclusion of a significant era in Libyan history. He was laid to rest in the Libyan Desert in the Kufra District, returning to the vast landscapes of his native country even in death.
