Biography
Joseph Stalin was born on December 18, 1878, in Gori, a town in the Caucasus region. He rose to become the political leader of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, holding power from 1924 until his death nearly three decades later. During his lengthy tenure, he shaped Soviet policy and international relations through a period of significant historical upheaval.
Stalin spent his final years at Kuntsevo Dacha, where he died on March 5, 1953, at the age of seventy-four. His death resulted from a cerebral hemorrhage. Following his passing, he was laid to rest at the Kremlin Wall Necropolis in Moscow’s Tverskoy District, a burial site reserved for prominent Soviet figures.
His nearly three-decade leadership left an indelible mark on twentieth-century history, influencing the development of the Soviet state and its role on the world stage. Stalin’s legacy remains a subject of historical study and reflection.
