Peter I was born on October 9, 1328, in Nicosia, where he would spend his entire life before his death on January 16, 1369. He rose to prominence as a king of significant influence in the Eastern Mediterranean during the fourteenth century, ruling over both Cyprus and Armenia. His dual kingship reflected the complex political landscape of the medieval eastern seas, where power extended across multiple territories and kingdoms.

Throughout his reign, Peter I held considerable authority over his domains during a period of considerable turbulence in the region. His rule encompassed both the island of Cyprus and the kingdom of Armenia, positioning him as a notable figure in Mediterranean politics of his era. His leadership during these years left a lasting mark on the territories under his governance.

Peter I remained in his birthplace of Nicosia throughout his life, and it was there that he ultimately passed away at the age of forty. Following his death, he was laid to rest in Cyprus, where his legacy as a dual monarch continued to be remembered. His forty-year life, though relatively brief by modern standards, was marked by the responsibilities and complexities of ruling multiple kingdoms during a transformative period in Eastern Mediterranean history.
