Biography

Tiberius was born in Rome on November 14, 41 BC into a world of political significance and expectation. His life would span a transformative period in Roman history, one that witnessed the consolidation of imperial power and the establishment of precedents that would shape the empire for generations to come.

Rising to prominence through the course of his life, Tiberius ultimately became the second Emperor of Rome, a position he held from 14 AD until his death. His reign marked an important chapter in the early imperial period, following the foundational rule of Augustus and preceding the tumultuous years that would follow.

On March 14, 37 AD, Tiberius passed away in Miseno, bringing an end to a life that had been deeply intertwined with Rome’s destiny. Though the specific circumstances surrounding his death were not recorded for posterity, his legacy was secured through his burial in the Mausoleum of Augustus in the Campo Marzio, where he was laid to rest among Rome’s most distinguished figures.
