Biography

Sergei Eisenstein was born on January 22, 1898, in Riga, where his early years were shaped by the cultural crossroads of the Baltic region. He would go on to become one of the Soviet Union’s most influential and innovative filmmakers, leaving an indelible mark on cinema that extended far beyond his lifetime. His contributions to the art form were both technically groundbreaking and thematically bold, establishing him as a visionary in his field.

Eisenstein’s career unfolded during a transformative period in Soviet history, and his work reflected the artistic ambitions of the era.
