Biography

Aristotle Onassis was born on January 15, 1906, in İzmir, a bustling port city in the Ottoman Empire. From his earliest days surrounded by maritime commerce, he would go on to become one of the world’s most influential shipping magnates. His keen business acumen and visionary approach to international trade shaped global shipping for decades.

Throughout his remarkable career, Onassis built a vast empire that extended far beyond maritime industries, becoming one of the most prominent and recognizable figures of the twentieth century. His business ventures and personal life captured international attention and made him a legendary figure in both commercial and social circles.

On March 15, 1975, Onassis passed away in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, at the age of sixty-nine, succumbing to respiratory failure. His legacy, however, would endure long after his death. He was laid to rest on Skorpios, his private island in Greece, a fitting final resting place for a man who had spent his life commanding the seas and shaping the world of international commerce.
