Biography

Ariel Sharon was born on February 27, 1928, in Kfar Malal, a formative beginning in what would become a life of significant public service. He went on to serve as Prime Minister of Israel from 2001 to 2006, a period marked by consequential leadership during a complex chapter in the nation’s history. His tenure spanned critical years that shaped both domestic and international policy, reflecting the weight of responsibility he carried throughout his career.

Sharon spent his final years in Ramat Gan before his death on January 11, 2014, which resulted from acute kidney injury. His passing marked the end of a life that had been deeply intertwined with Israeli public affairs and national development. He was laid to rest at Giv’at ha-Kalaniyot in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, a final resting place that reflected his connection to the land he served.
