Biography

Alexander Graham Bell was born on March 3, 1847, in Edinburgh, Scotland, entering a world on the cusp of tremendous technological change. His life would become intertwined with one of history’s most transformative inventions—the telephone. Through curiosity, dedication, and innovative thinking, Bell would leave an indelible mark on communication and technology that continues to resonate more than a century after his death.

Bell’s contributions extended far beyond a single invention, as he maintained a broad intellectual engagement with science and discovery throughout his life. On August 2, 1922, Bell passed away at Beinn Bhreagh, his beloved home in Canada, at the age of seventy-five, following complications from diabetes. He was laid to rest at Beinn Bhreagh, in Victoria County, a fitting final resting place for a man who had made Canada his adopted home and who valued both innovation and the natural world. His legacy endures as a testament to the power of human ingenuity and perseverance.
