Stefan Gierasch

Actor. He made his professional debut at the age of nineteen in the Broadway play “Snafu” (1944 to 1945) and during the early 1950s, he attended the Actor’s Studio in New York. His Broadway association encompassed four decades as he provided memorable performances in “Compulsion” (1957 to 1958) and “The Sound of Music” (1959 to 1963) in which he originated the portrayal of ‘Herr Zeller’. Television was also significant during his career, as he appeared in episodes of such programs as “Naked City”, “Hawaii Five-O” and “Dallas” among many others. His film credits include “The Hustler” (1961), “What’s Up Doc?” (1972), “High Plains Drifter” (1973) and “Carrie” (1976). (bio by: C.S.)
