Sir Henry Beckman

Actor. He was a recognizable character performer of television, films and stage. He is best known to many for his role as George Anderson in the soap opera “Peyton Place” and as Colonel Douglas Harrigan in the 1960s series “McHale’s Navy”. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he served in the Canadian Military during World War II. He began his acting career during the early 1950s and would appear in the programs, “Studio One”, “Dennis the Menace”, “Peter Gunn”, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”, “Combat!”, “The Fugitive”, “The Twilight Zone”, “The Wild, Wild West”, “Run for Your Life”, “Perry Mason”, “The Monkees”, “Mannix”, “Bronk”, “The Rockford Files”, “MacGyver” and “The X Files”. Among his film credits are, “Marnie” (1964), “Madigan” (1968), “The Undefeated” (1969) and “Death Hunt” (1981). He appeared in the Broadway productions “The Golden State” (1950) and “Darkness at Noon” (1951).
