Biography

Seamus Heaney was born on April 13, 1939, in the small village of Castledawson, where he spent his formative years in Northern Ireland. From these modest roots emerged one of the most significant literary voices of his generation. Throughout his life, Heaney devoted himself to the craft of poetry, becoming celebrated for his distinctive voice and masterful command of language.

Beyond his work as a poet, Heaney’s talents extended across multiple disciplines.
