Biography

Pierre Laval was born on June 28, 1883, in the small town of Châteldon, France. He devoted much of his life to political service, becoming a prominent figure in French public affairs during the early twentieth century. His career spanned decades of significant change in French history, during which he held various positions of influence and responsibility.

Laval’s life came to an end on October 15, 1945, when he died at Fresnes Prison from a gunshot wound. His death marked the conclusion of a complex and controversial period in French political history. Following his passing, he was laid to rest at Montparnasse Cemetery in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, one of France’s most notable burial grounds where many distinguished figures are interred.
