Biography
Park Chung-hee was born on November 14, 1917, in Gumi, beginning a life that would profoundly shape the course of modern Korean history. Serving as the third President of the Republic of Korea, he held one of the nation’s most significant leadership positions during a formative period in the country’s development.
His presidency left an enduring mark on South Korea’s trajectory, influencing policies and national direction during crucial decades of the twentieth century. On October 26, 1979, Park Chung-hee’s life ended tragically in Jongno District when he was killed by gunshot wound.
