Biography

Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was born on June 25, 1937, in Kuwait City, into a family with deep roots in the Arabian Gulf’s political and cultural heritage. Throughout his life, he served as Emir of Kuwait, holding one of the region’s most significant leadership positions. His tenure reflected a commitment to his nation during a period of considerable change and development.

On December 16, 2023, Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah passed away at Jaber al Ahmad hospital, leaving behind a legacy of service to Kuwait and its people. His death marked the end of an era for the nation and was felt deeply by those who knew him and the broader community he served.

Following the customs and traditions of his family and country, he was laid to rest at Sulaibikhat Cemetery in Sulaibikhat, Kuwait, where he joins other members of Kuwait’s notable families. His memory continues to be honored by those whose lives he touched and whose nation he led.
