Biography

Jacque Fresco was born on March 13, 1916, in Brooklyn, New York, during a time of rapid industrial change and social transformation. Throughout his long life, he devoted himself to exploring how society might be reimagined and rebuilt through innovative thinking and design. His work as a futurist and self-described social engineer reflected a deep commitment to understanding the intersection of technology, human behavior, and community organization.

Fresco spent his years developing and sharing ideas about alternative social structures and technological advancement. His contributions to futurism positioned him as a thought leader who challenged conventional thinking about how people might live and work together. He believed that thoughtful design and engineering principles could be applied not only to machines and buildings but to the very fabric of society itself.

On May 18, 2017, Fresco passed away in Sebring, Florida, at the age of 101, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. His legacy remains rooted in the ideas he promoted throughout his lifetime—visions of a future shaped by human ingenuity, sustainability, and social progress. He left behind a body of work and philosophy that continues to inspire those interested in reimagining humanity’s potential.
