Biography
Broadcasting Pioneer. In 1921 he became the first full-time announcer at Pittsburgh’s KDKA, America’s first radio station. He was the first to announce a major league baseball game (the Pirates vs. the Phillies on August 21, 1921). Family links: Parents: Byron A.
