Fred M. Vinson (1890–1953) was a chief justice of the United States from 1946 to 1953. Born January 22, 1890 in Lawrence County. Died September 8, 1953 in Washington, D.C. of myocardial infarction. Interred at Louisa, Lawrence County, United States.
