Eric XIV of Sweden was born on December 23, 1533, at Tre Kronor Castle, the royal residence that would anchor his early years. As a member of Sweden’s ruling dynasty, he was raised within the halls of power during a transformative period in Nordic history. His life would be marked by the complexities and challenges inherent to sixteenth-century European monarchy.
