Biography

Deng Xiaoping was born on August 22, 1904, in Xiexing Town, beginning a life that would profoundly shape the course of modern China. Rising through the ranks of Chinese politics, he emerged as a paramount leader whose influence extended from 1978 through 1989, a transformative decade for the nation. During this period, his vision and policies left an indelible mark on China’s development and its place in the world.
