Biography

Ellen Terry was born on February 27, 1847, in Coventry, England, during an era when few women achieved prominence in the theatrical world. Despite the limitations placed on women of her time, she pursued a career in acting and became one of the most celebrated actresses of the Victorian and Edwardian periods.
