Biography

Vladislav Listyev was born on May 10, 1956, in Moscow, where he would spend his entire life devoted to journalism. He became a prominent figure in Russian media during a transformative period in his country’s history, using his platform to inform and engage the public during significant social and political change. His work in journalism earned him recognition and respect within Russian broadcasting circles.

Listyev’s life was cut tragically short on March 1, 1995, when he was killed by gunshot wound in Moscow at the age of 38. His death marked a significant loss to Russian journalism and the media landscape of the time. He was laid to rest at Vagankovo Cemetery in the Presnensky District of Moscow, where he remains remembered by colleagues, friends, and those whose lives he touched through his professional endeavors.
