Biography

Robert Ley was born on February 15, 1890, in the small town of Niederbreidenbach, Germany. He would go on to become a prominent figure in Nazi Germany, serving as a politician during one of history’s most consequential and tragic periods. His life came to a dramatic end in October 1945, following the collapse of the Nazi regime.

After Germany’s defeat in World War II, Ley faced justice through the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, where he was indicted for war crimes. On October 25, 1945, he was executed by hanging in Nuremberg Court Prison. His death marked the end of a life spent in service to a regime responsible for immense human suffering and devastation across Europe.

The circumstances surrounding his burial remain unrecorded, leaving little physical trace of his final resting place. Ley’s legacy remains inseparable from the dark chapter of history he helped to write—a reminder of the consequences of political extremism and the accountability demanded by the international community in the aftermath of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
