Biography
Gabriel Lippmann was born on August 16, 1845, in Bonnevoie, a small community in Luxembourg. He would go on to distinguish himself as a physicist of considerable talent and innovation, eventually becoming a naturalized French citizen. Throughout his career, Lippmann devoted himself to scientific inquiry and advancement, contributing to the body of knowledge that would define his era’s understanding of physics.
