Biography

Titus was born on December 28, 39, in Rome, during a pivotal era of the Roman Empire. His life spanned one of history’s most consequential periods, and he would rise to hold one of the world’s most powerful positions as the tenth Roman Emperor. From his earliest days in the capital city, Titus was shaped by the grandeur and complexity of imperial Roman society.

Titus lived a full life during the first century, witnessing and participating in the transformation of Rome during these formative decades. The empire honored his memory by interring him in the distinguished Mausoleum of Augustus in the Campo Marzio, one of Rome’s most prestigious burial locations.
